Ochlerotatus
dorsalis
Ochlerotatus
dorsalis
is abundant in the southern portions of Teton
County during the summer months. It typically
has multiple generations each summer and occurs
most frequently in irrigated pastures and
hayfields.
Ochlerotatus
dorsalis
is notable because it is an extremely ferocious
biter and will actively seek a blood meal during
mid-day with light winds, conditions where most
mosquito species will less active.
