Teton County Mosquito Abatement
performs West Vile virus testing in our lab.
This year we have performed over 100 tests looking
for West Nile positive mosquitoes. We perform
these tests by separating the mosquitoes by species
and then placing them in pools of 50 or less
mosquitoes. We have been performing these tests for
several years.
In 2009, We had a positive
mosquito pool in south Park
In 2008, Teton County has no
positive mosquito pools to date.
In 2008, In Wyoming there is one
human case in Fremont County.
In 2007, Teton County had 2 West Nile positive
mosquito pools and no reported human cases.
